CHURCH HISTORY

Long Beach Community Worship Center is a non-denominational church located in downtown Long Beach, California. Pastor Sheridan E. McDaniel founded the church in 1992 and the first service was held on February 9, 1992 in the auditorium of a local high school. Although the church began with just 20 members (including children), all 290 seats in the auditorium were full on the first day of service. Pastor McDaniel’s sermon was entitled “Building the Wall”, taken from the book of Nehemiah, and since that day, he has not ceased building the kingdom of God.

Through anointed, powerful preaching, word of mouth, and street evangelism, God added to the church and many souls were saved. While the church started with just 20 members, in just two years the membership had grown to 300 upwards and could no longer hold service in the small school auditorium we were renting.

In 1994, under Pastor McDaniel’s leadership and vision, the Worship Center purchased a 7,300 square foot building, with a 500-seat capacity. By 1999, the building was paid for in full and once again the Worship Center membership had outgrown its building capacity. We currently hold two morning worship services and the Best is Yet to Come! We will bring the vision to reality.
Under the dynamic leadership of Pastor McDaniel, a true visionary, the Worship Center has always been a forerunner and believes in stepping out on nothing, watching God do the miraculous. Many have discovered their purposes and destinies as a result of God’s favor and hand upon the prophet of this house. Because of his obedience and sacrifice, God continues to do great and marvelous works in our midst. To God Be the Glory!

It is our mandate to “Present Worship and Produce Worshipers”. Long Beach Community Worship Center is in fact just that…a Worship Center. Recognizing that worship is a lifestyle, The Worship Center challenges you to become sound in the Word and to know the God you serve. The people, who know their God, shall be strong and do exploits. (Daniel 11:32)

Uninhibited by tradition and religion, following the voice of God, we trust that God is going to “Make a Statement” in our city and abroad through us. We are “Taking Over” the city of Long Beach, for Jesus Christ.

Long Beach Community Worship Center is a place where you will experience God’s manifested presence and power, a church filled with people passionately pursuing the presence of God, creating an atmosphere where His power is released in its fullness. We believe that the “Position of Worship is our Position to Receive”. So…we stay in position, with hands and lives uplifted.
