Staff Directory: Pastor Sheridan E. McDaniel

Sheridan E. McDaniel is the Pastor and Founder of Long Beach Community Worship Center Church in Long Beach, California, which he established in February 1992. Pastor McDaniel studied at Grace Bible College and received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Southern California School of Ministry. He is a man called by God to “Present Worship to Produce Worshipers”. Noted for his passion for worship, and leading people into God’s presence, he is a humble yet powerful and anointed vessel, whom God uses mightily in the kingdom. Pastor McDaniel is a man of integrity and wisdom that surpasses his age. He is married with four children. His spirit of excellence and lifestyle of worship are evident in all that he does.

Prior to organizing Long Beach Community Worship Center Church, Pastor McDaniel worked as a buyer for Shell Oil Company for 10 years. While employed by Shell Oil, he was called by God to preach the gospel in August 1984. For the next several years, he preached at various churches and organized two young adult fellowships: Christ Followers of the Holy Spirit and the Brotherhood Fellowship. These fellowships, made up of young adults from Long Beach and the surrounding South Bay communities, gathered on a weekly basis to study God’s word and perform various community and social services, such as feeding the homeless, evangelizing on the streets, and ministering to those in need.

In 1993, as senior pastor of a miraculously growing church, Pastor McDaniel left Shell Oil and began working full-time in ministry. While he started the church with just 20 members, the membership had grown to 300 upwards and could no longer hold service in the small school auditorium they were renting. In 1994, under his leadership and vision, the Worship Center purchased a 7,300 square foot building. By 1999, the building was paid for in full and once again the Worship Center membership had out grown its building capacity. Currently, there are two worship services held each Sunday morning, and the search is on for the next building.

Pastor McDaniel organizes and hosts numerous conferences, meetings, and events to benefit the body of Christ and the community at large. He is a true visionary with a heart for reaching out to fulfill the great commission. Some of which include: Street evangelism, homeless feedings, CIA (Character, Integrity & Accountability) free breakfast/lunch meetings serving hundreds of men and youth in the community, IHP (Into His Presence) Conferences, free gospel concerts, school prayer marches, and many others.

Over the past 12 years, Pastor McDaniel has assisted and served in various leadership positions within the body of Christ. He has traveled the world preaching and teaching God’s word. His administration, training, creativity, and vision have made a lasting impression in the hearts and lives of many. He is currently a member of the Macedonia International Fellowship, under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth Ulmer.

Pastor McDaniel has a passion for fulfilling his purpose and is convinced that outside of God’s presence, life is not worth living. He has asked God to use his life as a bridge to guide the way for those who will hear the Word of God he proclaims into a personal encounter with the person, presence and power of Jesus Christ.
